Mama mia!
Well what a weekend…
Saturday saw my triumphant return to the baseball field with the mighty JCU Manta Rays. We won of course 12:1 with a great individual effort from yours truly, contributing 2 double hits (for 4 RBIs), a walk, an assist to first and a put out at second. Not bad for first game back. Sweet, and much better than the first game last week when they lost 21:3 or something!
Sunday was also pretty cool. Sick of Brownsville Zoe suggested that we head up to Ingham (about an hours drive north) to check out the Italian festival. It was crazy, just heaps of crazy Italians everywhere drinking, having all you can eat competitions, eating, auctioning etc… etc…
After we’d had our fill of Chorizos we headed out to Lucinda. It’s a small town on the coast to the NE of Ingham where you can get accross to Hinchinbrook island. It also has a VERY long peir (6k or something) for loading sugar (i think) onto ships.
On the way home we stopped off at a National Park, did a short bushwalk up a gorge and checked out a pretty big waterfall. On the way up we saw what I would call a blue-bellied black snake.
All in all a pretty cool weekend, with some swweet photos to boot.
