From the pan…
… into the fire.
Well, I just got back from my field trip and spent the afternoon unpacking. It’s now 1711 and I’m very tired and smelly and hungry.
The field trip went well. My two supervisors were able to make it so I got to have a few drinks and get to know Brad (the fish guy from WA) a bit better, which was good.
We sampled two sites, catching a reasonable number of fish, but far less species than I thought we would. We also collected some cool invertebrates, like freshwater molluscs (pippies), spiders etc…
Next week I’ve got to go through and process the fish that we kept and figure out what they’re eating. I’ll post osme pictures of the trip and the fish next week.
But, for the rest of this week I’m marking Botany exams!!! Oh man, is that going to be boring. Comes with the territory of being a stuffy academic I guess….
Guy Marion is visiting from Brisbane next week. It should be great to catch up with him, and do a reciprocal visit or five down the coast for some SURFING!!!!
