The madness continues
It’s been pretty full on up here recently.
Last wednesday Zoe and I returned to Magnetic Island for some more fun in the sun. This included a long bushwalk around three of the Island’s bays ending with a late afternoon beer at one of the Bars on the far side.
Then it was back to the books to finish off the week while Zoe slaved away until 8pm at the Civic Theatre. She got home and told me that she’s finally decided to quit. ABOUT TIME as far as I’m concerned. She’d been getting ripped off over there for ages, running the whole marketing office and getting SFA pay. So today, monday, is D-Day, she’s got to go in there and tell the terrible manager that she’s leaving. Eeek!
Saturday afternoon brought a baseball game. It was supposed to be an easy win for us (the opponents team consisted of mainly large young women and a deaf girl). But at the end of the first inning they were leading 5-4 (basically because we were all mucking around. So we had to get back on the bats and score some more runs, which we did winning 15-5. The highlight was a home run from yours truly!! First one I’ve ever hit out of the park, although I’ve been so close so many times!
Sunday was spent on a little mission up the coast in search of the perfect gravel for my fish tank. It ended well with two buckets worth of gravel in the back of a very dusty car. Yes, there was some 4WDing. It was great to get the car dirty and off-road after so long.
