Townsville burns
A series of small fires around Townsville have been burning over the last couple of days, making the air thick and the sunsets very red.
Last night Zoe and I drove up Castle Hill to check it out and shoot some photos. It was pretty nice, it looked as though the whole city was on fire.

In other news, I’ve added a mullet to my fish tank to kick off the filter cycle. Seems to be going ok, with ammonia levels already just below 5ppm. That should take a few weeks to complete.
In the mean time I’m going into the local fish shop on the weekend to reserve my bits of live rock so they can be added once the tank has cycled. Should look great when it’s finished (what am I saying? a tank is never finished!)
Also, Zoe and I are heading down to Sydney for Chirstmas. We’ll fly in on about the 17th and head up to Port Stephens for a couple of days, go surfing, have xmas at my parent’s house and then fly out to NZ on the 29th for new year’s eve and Zoe’s birthday in Wellington.
We’re thinking we’ll then travel up to Auckland and see Zoe’s dad, maybe stopping for a bit of homage paying at Gisborne (Zoe’s birthplace).
Then back to Sydney on about the 10th and back to Townsville a couple of days later. Should be GREAT!!! to get out of Townsville (especially when it’s going to be f**king hot!!!)
