Calypso
Well, here I am in a crazy backpackers in Cairns. I’m here for the CRC annual conference, which is at the Hilton. Maybe one day I’ll have the research funds available to stay there. But till then… it’s Calypso Inn Backpackers all the way! It’s not too bad actually, but I just lost a pool game, and don’t know anyone here. With Zoe back in Townsville there seems little point in trying 
Tommorrow brings the first day of the conference. I’ll see how I go, should be interesting, wonder if I’ll win a prize for my poster. Doubt it.
The trip up was pretty boring. I just sat in the back of the hire car and chilled out reading “Buddha of Suburbia” which is the book that Zoe picked out for me. A good choice. Although my enjoyment was tempered by my annoyance with everything Cane-Farming-Related.
Bit of a boring entry but nothing amazing has happened yet. Later fools.
