We’ve done it. Several beers were had yesterday afternoon as my rego got stamped. New plates, a new look and a chance to get back to doing what I’m actually here for - laying around in the heat.
Mum and Dad left this morning. I felt a little useless, not needing to put on dirty clothes and deal with the car for the first day in several weeks.
I’ve been taking heaps of photos with my Olympus Trip 35 (a poor man’s version of a Lomo), but I’m yet to have them developed. When I do I’ll scan some in and post them up for you guys to check out.
I’m heading up to Cairns on Sunday for the Rainforest CRC annual conference. It should be a good chance to meet up with the players who run the show up here. I’m presenting a poster that I put together yesterday and today - just to tell people about my project.

Then, when I get back next Wednesday, I have to turn around and get back up there to finish off my first round of sampling and replace the fish that went skanky. Due to the massive shortage of volunteers at the moment because of exams, Zoe is going to come along and help out. I hope she doesn’t get eaten by a ‘might big croc’!.
Ooooh. Mum also treated me to a Sailfin Tang like this one.
Totally cool.
