Water + Heat = Summer in TSV
We arrived safe and sound in Townsville on Sunday afternoon. What greeted us was water and heat.
While we’ve been away for the last month the city has turned from brown to green. There is water and humidity and sweltering tropical heat everywhere. Along with mosquitos. It’s looking very tropical.
I’m back at ‘work’ today in a vain attempt to get the ball rolling in the new year, but have spent most of the morning getting the photos organised and posted. You can view them using the links on the left.
Here’s a little photo montage of Zoe at a cafe in Devonport:

Zoe was unlucky to not be selected for sociology in the first round of university offers
However, she’s been in to see the head of admissions and it looks as though she might get a second round offer towards the end of the month - fingers crossed.
I also took the rather humilating step of going into Eagle Boys Pizza and applying for a job as a pizza delivery boy. I hope I get one of those nifty pink shirts to wear. I don’t know how much it pays, or if you get to keep your tips - but I figure that if I can bring in an extra $150 a fornight or something then it’s probably worth it.
Lastly, the fish tank was a disater when I arrived back. There’d been some serious tropical downpour on Friday which led to sparks flying from the transformer up the pole out the front of our units and a black out. Unfortunately the pumps didn’t restart and algae began to take over. I spent all of Sunday afternoon trying to sort if out (which sucked), and now it’s all nice and pretty again. The fish seem relieved.
