Field pain

I’m back from the first bit of field work. Things went very smoothly, the volunteers were great (and didn’t break anything ;), the pub was perfect and the whole budget didn’t get blown out (which Richard will be pleased to hear). Now I have to process all the fish that we caught in time for the second leg of the sampling next week, the electrofishing.

My feet are caning me after the filed trip. I drove all the way home in bare feet and the end of my left heel and the point on my right foot where the accelerator pedal was, have got what appear to be pinched nerves. I can hardly walk, but there’s nothing to show for it on the surface :(
Zoe got a whopping 90% in her first essay, a 500 word number on Darwinian v. Lammarkian evolutionary theory. Good job, although now she claims that to continue producing these marks she will definitely need a laptop. Tell her she’s dreaming….

Centerlink also finally came through, after 6-8 weeks of bureaucratic bullshite… I’m thinking of making a t-shirt that has the centerlink logo (a person sort of hugging) with it’s hands in the air shrugging and ‘Cantdoshite’ in their corporate font. I think they’d sell well on campus.
