Funny things

Several funny things have happened to Zoe and I recently.

The first, which is more gross than funny, is that at Baseball on Saturday I received a nasty graze on my left knee whilst sliding into second base. It was bloody and sore and looked like the surface of a chicken breast when I first did it - just before the blood started to come out. I’ve been trying desperately to get a scab to form so that it can heal, but it has been a PITA (or should that be*K). Anyway, this has involved walking around with my jeans rolled up, showering with my leg out of the shower etc… etc…

The second, is Zoe’s crazy bursts of being really cute. These usually come over her in the car on the way home. The other day she was making a funny and ‘really satisfying’ sound with her tongue. Going “blagel-blagel-blagel” by flicking her tongue on the top of her mouth (like you so when you say ‘La”). Try it, it’s fun.

Then on the same trip home we pulled up next to another car at the lights. The driver was sucking on a McDonalds drink. We decided it must have been a thickshake because of this wild circular motion that he was doing with his head to rotate the straw around the bottom of the cup (maybe you had to be there).

Lastly, there’s been the return of Kiki, our crazy German neighbour. She has returned from her homeland with the assumption that we all understand her when she inserts some random german word instead of the english. So she’ll say something like “We should go to the Scheiwisenallen [or whatever], directly”. Then is astounded when we’re standing there going ‘duh…, what?’.

This led her to say to another friend the other day at dinner, “nobody understands me”, to which Zoe replied, “Don’t worry, we can go dancing later”!
