After several recent requests for more updates, here you go!

My PhD has been going through ups-and-(non-productive)-downs for a while. Some weeks I’ll represent and get a lot done and other times it’ll all die in the ass and nothing will happen for a while. Anyway, I’m currently on the cusp of a move from a non-prod. period to a v. prod. period. Should be good.

Seeing as it hasn’t been too productive over the last few days, I figured that I would cut my losses and take a few days off to relax and enjoy the fantastic mid-week weather (that never seems to arrive over the weekends). On monday I chilled out at home and did some big ‘autumn’-cleaning. This was very satisfying.

I followed this up on Tuesday with a mission over to Magnetic Island to have a bit of a snorkel. It was good to get away from Townsville and check out the crazy aquatic dudes dwelling over there. There’s a blue-spot sting ray that is pretty cool. It looks like this. Pretty cool hey?

Zoe’s friend Fran is visiting at the moment. They’re heading over to Magnetic Island for a couple of days and then getting back to have a girls-night-out with a few others. I think I’ll head over to Curtis’ (one of the bballers) place to watch the Wallabies game on Saturday. it will be nice to have the place to myself actually, although I’m not sure what I’m going to eat ;) Wait, yes I do, Pizza and Beer (and maybe a few carrots to keep my stomach happy - they’re a great source of soluble fibre :)
Duncan is coming up soon (which is another reason why I have to do some work sooner rather than later). It should be cool to catch up with him and help him celebrate the end of his exams (he has 8! because the curriculum calls for you to do all these half subjects, that are really more like 3/4 subjects -assholes!).

Then Andy and Bob are coming up, which should be sweet. Andy was nice enough to register a new doman name for me which will be cool. We’ve just got to work out exactly how to set it up etc… without losing the material that is already on this site.

I’d also like to sort out a trip to Hinchinbrook with Lachlan and Tim-Tim (who seems to be feeling a little-little and needs some hugs and support). It would be sweet. Let me know when you guys can come and I’ll go ahead and book it.

Hinchinbrook is Phat!
