fat of the land.
Zoe and I had a relatively hedonistic weekend. It was nice to be all fuzzy and in love and contented and spoilt.
On Friday night we headed out to dinner with some friends for a chinese feast at the Plamer St Jazz festival. I had half a roast duck. I felt bad but, “he tasted so good”. We were so full afterwards that we didn’t see any Jazz, we just went home and fell into a MSG induced coma.
On saturday we got up and had feta cheese on toast for breakfast, which is tasty and then went kayaking on the strand for $10/hr. We saw a turtle and sloshed around. Zoe got a blister *soft*. See the photo on the right for me in action ![]()
Saturday night was spent reclining at our place and watching TV. Meanwhile, we’ve become quite the fans of Da Boosh.
Sunday was more of the same really. We hung out at home in the morning, then went to the markets and followed that up with a little lunch and a relaxing afternoon laying in the afternoon sun drinking champagne and coffee (a good combo for sensitive stomachs). Very nice.
I’ve also been working my ass off on my PhD. Seeing as we’ve haad so many visitors recently I haven’t had much chance to work. So last week I caught up the last four weeks of work. This makes me wonder what I usually do. I even managed to fix the JCU baseball team website.
UPDATE Well, I’ll be. You know those raffles that you enter out of charity and never expect to win. Well, at the Jazz festival a little girl came around with her mum selling tickets to support the Junior Jazz Association. We bought two tickets, not expecting to win… well…

Brian from Junior Jazz just called to inform me that we won FIRST prize. Holy crap. It’s a $300 weekend at a resort on Magnetic Island! Yey!
