It’s off!

It’s been great to see an abundance of comments on my first post, particularly encouragement for more Zoe.

I’ve been working my soft little ass off at uni in an attempt to get everything done by the time I leave for Sydney and Adelaide. Although, this burden has been eased considerably by Dave Foster representing with a very nice design for my conference poster (which will be unveiled as soon as it’s finalised).

I’ve got to head out to Townsville’s northern suburb of Pallaranda this afternoon to tutor a class on mangrove ecology. That should be fun; walking around in croc, mosquito and sandfly infested mud with a bunch of whinging first years!

Speaking of estuaries, Will and I are going to head out to the Boating and Outdoor Adventure Show on the weekend in the true spirit of bogan-hood. The show will feature the Supertank which is a massive aquarium on a semi-trailer stocked with Barramundi that the entrepreneur casts his lures into. Sweet (unless you’re a Barra)!

In more estuarine news, I just got this email

Joe Holtum has found a tagged mudcrab near the “Controlled Environment
Centre”. Its tag is yellow.

The owner may collect this crab from Joe’s office as soon as possible.
