We’re here!!
Welcome to the all new tomandzoe.com. Much like moving house, getting to this new address has been a bit of a PITA. I’d like to give a massive big-up to Andy for all his help. Without his efforts this would not have happened. Respect. Also, with this new site you will now be able to read posts by Zoe. Yey! Along with ‘celebrity’ posts from time to time.
Unfortunately, as part of the move the comments from the old diary are not included here. So feel free to spam it up and get some comments cranking. As for the design of this page, I slapped it together from code I leeched from The Layout Reservoir, so if you have any problems or are having trouble viewing it in your browser then click on the “found a problem?” link on the left hand menu and leave a detailed comment. This site is best viewed with the fantastic, free and open-source Firefox. Do yourself a favour and download it.
In the meantime check out the sweet little tank that I fixed up over the weekend and let me know what you think of the site!

congrats on the new digs guys. yaay!
timber-curvy-looking things, are good. what/who’s going in it?

Not sure yet, prob just some corals… then sit in on my desk. Thinking about something cool though, like pipefish or some crazy rare fish.

The tank looks great. How did the bending of the MDF go? any cracking? Did you need to use heat/steam/brute force?
September 6th, 2004 at 3:41 pm
I must say the new web page format looks a bit antiseptic compared with the old one

I did have a sexier design, but there were problems with the way it was displayed in Internet Explorer and at low resolutions, so I had to change it. I’ll be adding some graphic elements soon, but I’ve got so much work to do, that it’ll have to wait until I get back from Adelaide.
The MDF bending went ok. I steamed it over the kettle. It did crack a little on the inside, but so far it has held. I’m going to paint the outside black, have black sand and a black overflow, should look cool when it’s done.

I hope that’s not Hahn Light I see next to the tank. Because that would be soft.

Hi Tom and Zoe
Congratulations on your new homepage, its tassssty!! As I browse through it I get more and more “homesick” for Australia. As soon as I start making some serious money, I shall make up a little can with a note saying ‘to be exchanged into australian dollars’, and when the can is full and the exchange rate is in my favour I shall buy myselfe a little ticket for a little trip down under. I hope that T&Z will still be in Townsville (Clownsville, alternatively Brownsville or Drownsville; depending on time of the year and possibly the mental state of the beholder), and that we may pick up the pace, buzz, line or whatever where we left it some time in april this year. Maybe have some time to go and explore a little….!
I’ve been exploring a little in this part of the world (Norway)too, since I got back, with some fishing, hunting and otherwise just sniffing around with or without my camera , always with some field guide in my back pocket.
I will send you some photos as soon as I get a bit more organised, which could take time! Not too long though I hope! Allright take care and good luck with it all.
Asle?!

Hello, we were just talking about you on the way to uni with Kiki, they were wondering if you were still alive. I assured them that you were and that we’d been emailing, but that life in the freshwater fish office hasn’t been as fun since you (and your snuz) left
(by the way, I found your comment and fixed them all up

Dunc, if you’re still saying that when you’re nearly 25, I’ll say I’m soft.
September 7th, 2004 at 10:51 am
We know you’re soft, but soft is cool, especially in TSV.
We need to remind Dunc that he threw up on the plane to TSV not so long ago. That really is soft!
September 7th, 2004 at 1:03 pm
I’m more bony than soft.
September 7th, 2004 at 1:55 pm
Tom, I am closer to 25 than you and it is soft. Further evidence of this softness comes from when you posted that Cougar Bourbon sign you were holding a Sterling - this is of course light beer.

Well spotted Phildo! This comes as a great embarrassment to the Rayner family (which is one of the reasons we had to send him [name withheld] to Townsville in the first place)and to me especially. I was brought up on a diet of Ruddles, Smiths Special Bitter, Worthingtons IPA, Guinness, and Bodingtons, to name a few (and I had a few) and it pains me to see beers such as Sterling, Hahn Light, etc being consumed in family photos:)

Oh, I cut off the kegs that were next to it. By the way I’ll come and visit you all in the Cirrhosis clinic!
September 7th, 2004 at 4:55 pm
I will no doubt then be obliged to come and visit you at the impotency clinic

Hi zoe!
Ves was just up in AK last week and reminded me that I have been intending to write to you….I can’t find the link to your email on here, so I’ll call Ves and get it…I guess maybe you know/don’t know, but i am an auntie now and my beautiful niece is seriously intelligent and the best baby in the world (Ves may take exception, since her niece is super-cool also), anyway have about 1 zillion very gorgeous pictures of niece Romy so will send them via email rather than post on great site…It’s still totally hot and lovely in Auckland…i love summer! May the golden weather never end…love monse
