Yes, that is BOTH of us…
maybe Andy could have got us tomtalkscrap.com, but he didn’t, and now the crowd is chanting my name, waving cigarette lighters in unison, and throwing underwear on the stage, I feel obliged to cast a few notes your adoring way, and talk crap myself.
this week has been pretty bizarre, strange wet sort of stuff has begun to come from the sky, which is not it’s blue self, but an unnatural grey colour. this has been accompanied by some atmospheric warming up, and thismorning as I tried to brush my teeth at the same time that Tom was taking a shower in our very poorly ventilated bathroom, suddenly, repressed memories from a long, long 7 months ago began to flood back… yes, folks, THE WET is coming back to get us again. its still bearable, but stay posted for the moaning and grumbling when it really kicks in! (from Tom, obviously, I am very stoic of course)
In more optomistic news, I bought a really cool new backpack, which as you can imagine is something I’d be pretty chuffed with. I found myself vainly pulling up an extra chair at Roccoco’s cafe the other day, so my bag wouldn’t get dirty. and it’s khaki. yep, girls and bags and shoes..
Uni and work are both going well, the Mayor wants to see some of the workplans I’ve been doing for our director, and my lecturers want me to do readings and turn up to class with something to say, which sometimes all feels a bit too much, so if I start screaming “all you do is take, take, take - there’s never any GIVE!!!” like my intermediate school teacher (thats year 5 & 6 I think), Mrs Cooper, did on one school camp (what did she expect, we were 12 years old!) then you know Ive lost it, and need to be sent to Paluma to chill out. (sorry, no smart hyperlink to a Paluma webpage, but hey, it’s my first go).
and everything else is cool… I will 1/2 expect Tom and Will to come back from the expo on the weekend with sheepish looks on their faces, having just mortgaged their pushbikes and bought a boat, or if not, then at least to talk about buying a boat for the rest of the year. oh, except they already talk about buying a boat now.
I have been contented with a more reserved purchase: a mini muffin tray, which seems quite ridiculous, as the muffins are really quite mini, but it didn’t cost me 12 grand, and it’s just so much fun! I will be making things in mini muffin tray shape for many a party to come.
well, Im off to class, and to swing by and see Joe Holtum, who may be able to donate something tasty to our seafood dinner tonight.

Here’s the backpack
And here’s the boat Will and I are going to buy.
I don’t think that mortgaging our bikes will cover it. We might also have to mortgage Zoe’s bike

i think that with the mortgage on zoe’s bike you might even have a few dollars spare to stock the fridge with a few light ales and some hard liquor for the cirrhosis sufferers
