hobble-shopping sucks!

Yay! we’re in Sydney! its soooo cool, like, as in not life-drainingly hot and wet. Tom has gone surfing, gone gaming, gone drinking, driven around in Pete’s stinky car and yelled “SHAKA KHAN!” through the “loud speaker” to passers by. Speaking of: we wondered why no-one was reacting to being yelled at, or even turning around, until I got out of the car and Dunks was still “Shaka Khan-ing” and realised that despite it sounding hi-larious while inside the car, it sounds a bit like “Sbbuuurrrgh-cgghhuuuur-khuuur-chsh-chsh-chsh!!!” and merely as if one hasn’t tuned the radio very well from the outside. and I was right outside, standing next to the stationary, and engine-off car, not being a person hearing it from the other side of the street, with the car’s own engine noise, the other traffic noise and frankly, not really giving a damn about some hoons driving past.
Anyway, back to me, I’ve been cafe-ing, waiting and shopping, basically. and hobble-shopping sucks, but it still beats Townsville-shopping, so Im really pushing myself hard here. Not to over-dramatise now, but I really feel that as Jana Pittman pointed out, I didn’t come all this way, and do all this hard work in the lead-up, just to not run the race, to not see if I had it in me. Yes, there have been many hurdles along the way - small children, stairs, too-fast escalators, but I have persevered, and hobbled from one end of Hornsby to the other, and from QVB to Glebe to Bondi Junction, and with panadol, coffee, my trendy urban stick and the love and support of friends and family, I’ll just see how far I can go. (Advance, Australia Fair….)
