Perseverance pays off

Zoe and I headed over to Maggie for the weekend, to recoup the free accommodation that we won last year. The resort was super-nice and super-free! Love it.
I spent the early mornings fishing. I finally had some results and put the new reel (that dunk got me for my birthday) to good use!

For xmas, Zoe bought me a fly tying vice. Since then, I’ve been practicing tying both fresh and saltwater flies. Now the ladies who work at Spotlight are my best buds. Last night I tied this bad-ass shrimp, which is a variation on a theme

We made it, down the mighty rapids of the Tully River. Only minor cuts and bruises and some sunburn to show for it. Oh, and some great memories.
