Field trips and video clips

I finally got some of the video clips from the field trip. You can check them out on the Broadband content page.

My favourite is the one of me doing a large pelivs-thrust-jump off the turtle observatory platform at Lake Eacham (although the one of Rusty jumping onto the overhanging palm in the croc infested Mulgrave River is up there too).

While we were at Lake Eacham we went for a snorkel/swim. It’s got really nice vis. and drops away into the crater itself, “like it’s nobodies’ business” as Rusty proclaimed. Anyway, we soon tired of this endeavour. So, we headed over to see if we could get any pictures from the turtle observation deck.

But, there weren’t any turtles; only a kid who asked his mum something, to which she replied, “if you want to spend the rest of the day in the car, that’s fine”. I can only assume that he asked if he could jump off the platform, for it was so built for it.

So, loving petty authority figures as I do, I decided to do a big pelvis-thrust-jump off the platform. Luckily I made it, and Rusty managed to capture the event with his camera - I was having serious funiest home videos vibes - and the rest is history (which is my saying for the day).

Needless to say the glowering mother was not impressed!
