Surfing in Townsville?

Well, after 2 and half years I’ve had my first surf in Townsville. Paul (my office mate), Zoe and I caught the ferry over to Maggie and did the mission walk into the surf spot. We were greeted by 1-2ft onshore wind-chop slop. Gnarly!~

I’ve put up a video of Paul on a wave in the broadband content area. Enjoy

I think you should get the jet ski out and tow-in…

Oh, how cute, they’ve gone and built a wave pool so all the tourists can get a taste of surfing culture without risking life and limb with the stingers.

Perhaps if the wave machine is turned on for the 16th, the Townsville Outdoor Maestros Organisation (TOMO) [I'm sure there's a t-shirt in that] could put on a world-first Maggie surfing comp?
