Denali is quite phat

Ok, here’s a few photos from the frozen north. In Anchorage right now, no time to pontificate ad nausem…

Ticking the boxes:
bears
moose
northern lights
crazy alaskans
glaciers
reindeer burger
arctic ground squirrel etc…

Those shots are well phat, nice work bro. I’m waiting for the one’s of you on top of phat peaks with icicles in your beard and eyebrows. Have you caught up with the Alaskan news of the last month or so to see what they’ve all been doing for the IMD?

great photos - you are very lcuky - never seen the lights - did you see a reindeer other than to eat it - do they taste like chicken???
went back and looked at Hinchinbrook photos - what a wonderful world…
also, for the others - the latest “Outdoor” has great photo on top of Hinchinbrook, page on effect of fires last year at Wilsons Prom and some adventure rallies that look like they could be the next big thing for you all.

to be truthful, i’ve never even seen the light

Sometimes we get the lights up in NY but it’s not nearly as nice as those… I’m jealous man…

the reindeer tastes like cabanosi, i haven’t seen any alive so i’m starting to wonder if it isn’t just cabanosi.

did the Spawning Run this morning. it was 5km, not too cold, but basically dark when it started at 7am. Took a respectable 25:02, but was aided in that effort by an older guy who I ran with.

i wore the Gordonvale singlet of course :) and on my entry form i wrote my affiliation as “Dominators”.

seen some interesting talks and met some great people. also some highly strung freaks (mainly from NY state AJ ;)) who are using really complicated models to say that larger fish live in deeper pools. WTF??? I felt like getting up and ranting, but went and got coffee instead - i felt better after that.

oh, i placed 90 out of about 250-odd.

and AJ, you starred in my talk. for the methods slide, one of the photos to highlight the fact that we’d caught some inverts too, was you with the triangular invert net looking like and angst-ridden-avril-lauvigne-listening person.

But I’m prettier than AJ (and have less hairs on my chest)
