Gone fishing

I booked a trout and salmon fishing adventure with Alaska Trout Outfitters tomorrow. I get 5 hours guided salmon fishing on the Russian River for US$150, which isn’t too bad.

I also bought myself some new gortex waders (there an investment in my future - i.e. tomorrow ;) ) at the princely sum of US$230.

I will now be eating potatoes for the remainder of my travels.

don’t get your shoes wet at the bottom. follow the cairns and coloured bunting hanging from trees all the way to the top and if you camp in the saddle follow the little track further up the hill to a good 1 tent clearing. Otherwise it is not far to the top (about an hour) with the first bit being the most sketchy from the saddle.

Tomo - fishing is cool. Good luck and try to smoke some of your catch so you can bring it home.

Jodi - get onto those ‘boxes of doom’. That creek climb is a bitch and will only be owned by determined domination. I’m sure Tomo can talk you through the navigational intricacies but the best advice is to cross your fingers that there are no clouds. Also check out google earth for the best aerial photos of the island.

oh and when it does get a bit hard and your eyes leak in a sheer, determined grimmace, think of us ..”dry your eyes mate”..

Wear a dominator singlet - it will give you power!

Oh, and carry some port. In fact, you should take the port bottle that timtim found.
