Digital Sucks

I finally received my processed and scanned Holga films from Alaska and Hawai’i. They turned out well, despite the poor quality light in Alaska for 95% of my trip.

The shot below was the pick of the bunch. I love the way the mountain in the centre is highlighted by the light coming through the clouds. This one is up there on the list of favourites to get printed Wim Wenders style (i.e. Huge). Imagine this printed 3m x 3m!! You can see them all here (the files are large than normal because Holga deserves it).

Or the cropped version…

In one of the biggest dissapointments of the year the photos from Andy and Bob’s wedding didn’t come out, as the stupid American security system (I can see them adding this post to my ASIO file right now) managed to expose my film when I left Hawai’i. They had a sign, but it was buried in the bottom of my bag, but I was tired and hot and couldn’t be bothered scrounging around. For what it’s worth, the photos I took have been recorded in my head - so I guess if they work out a USB method of downloading thoughts then there’s still hope.

I can’t understand why the sign was buried in the bottom of your bag. Were you trying to souvenir it? No wonder you were subjected to ‘Secondary Searches’ :)

soon i guess, bit windy at the moment. the latest adventure is a maggie island night dive on the molke for the coral spawning (or something similar).

there is also talk of a rafting trip down the herbert (once it rains a little) using those little plastic inflatable boats that you buy from k-mart.

Bourke!? are you for real? I spent xmas in narromine / dubbo once. I nearly died. well, that is to say, I nearly dried out and baked and shrivelled up (explains the old dude in the pub), plus nomes’ old dog actually really died, and we had to get the JACKHAMMER out to dig a grave.

but I did see poisonous paddy-melons and go to a cubby house under the railway line.

Maybe down the south coast, might be able to find a spot we can fish and surf?
