Pimp my ride
Today I pimped by bicycle, I stripped it down and gave it a nice lick of paint. A pale green, ‘Rivergum’ I believe, off-set by a bronzy-golden colour on the head, seat joint and drop-outs. This bike is a single-speed with a flip-flop hub. Timtim built it for courier-ing in inner-sydney. I’ve set it up for Townsville conditions by adding thorn-proof tubes. All I need now is some “Dominators” and “IMDII - special edition” decals, maybe with the IMD Committee stamp on the front stem.
Wonder if it’ll ride faster?

is this the townsville equivalent of patriotic green and gold? - is it merely a coincidence that the days to completion of the thesis have disappeared from the site????????

well, australia day is on the horizon. mind you, i think townsvillians would go with the traditional green and gold. on that topic, what is the deal with the south africa one-day cricket uniform. since, when have they worn green and gold while we wear grey?
funny you should mention the days to completion. when andy updated the site, the new version of wordpress couldn’t handle the little script that calculates the days left to the specified date. so, i took it off. i might put it back, but it was kinda annoying having it there because people would just use it as an excuse to rile me about it. i guess that’s partly the point, to provide some scary motivation.
today i got some coments back from brad (my supervisor) on a draft chapter. they were constructive, in a kind of ‘you-suck’ way. for example, this is how he started,
I can already hear clwedd saying, “what goes around, comes around“.

I hope you still have the murmaid sticker that dominated the steerer tube

The mermaid sister sticker is no more
Maybe you could suggest another girls clothing brand that i could approach for some sponsorship.

by the way that bike is a bit shadowy to look at, is it in semi stealth mode
January 18th, 2006 at 11:14 am
not sure what you mean by ’shadowy’? but, yes you can see that it’s taken up a semi-covert position behind that urban tactical defense structure (i.e. a fence).
this is a cool shirt:
