I told them, but they wouldn’t listen!
Timtim asked if I’ve got the x-rays of the steel rod in my leg. They still haven’t let me see them. The doctor said, they’re electronic, so, “if you can get to a monitor you can have a look”. “How am I supposed to do that?”, I wanted to say.
We went to the hospital yesterday for a check up. Turns out that I also have a fractured right heel. No wonder it was hurting so much. They wouldn’t listen to me, of course, making me get up and do physio with bruises everywhere. They just read the chart and it says you’ve got a broken leg, not that you fell 25m and got owned! They don’t take into account that the rest of you is sore, and that the parts of you that you use for crutchering are actually the most sore. You know what the doctor suggested when he realised that my right heel was fractured too? “Oh, you can just put some weight through your left leg [the broken one] to compensate”. Oh, OK, thanks for that great advice, that won’t hurt at all.
In the same breath he’s talking about reducing the pain-killers I’m on. They just don’t listen, they don’t connect. By the time I got home from the hosptial yesterday I was so angry. I had a big ball of frustration and hate inside me, ready to spew out at anything and anyone. As an aside, it didn’t help that I’m coming down off 2 weeks of strong Morphine. Can’t imagine what it would be like to go cold turkey off Heroin or something.
On Monday I’m going to my GP to get my left wrist and elbow x-rayed too. They hurt more than my right foot (with the small fracture), so I guess there’s a possibility that they’re fractured too.
