I’m passionate too
I can see by the comments lately that everyone else was as exicted by Tom’s snail throwing as I (and he?) was. So lets talk about something else.
It’s the first week of uni - horray! that’s horray for several reasons.. I’m kinda sick of work (sorry CommDevt people, it’s not you, it’s me), I’ve got a kickass bunch of papers to take which Im looking forward to, plus I realise that there’s only a year to go, which is really really managable and really really close, there’s just this symester, then one more symester after that, and then just another year if I do honours, so I’d better get to enjoying it before it’s over.
just had japanese class - the lecturer is a really funny, crazy germanic/austrian/kinda dude who is totally friendly and laid back. His take on deadlines: “no-one’s going to be DEAD if you don’t hand it in on that date” and, at the end of his intro lecture, which only lasted 1/2 hour (lectures are only 1 hr long! for ALL of my 3 normal papers this symester!) anyway, he’s like “well, that’s it, I can sit here and twiddle my fingers, or.. I can play with this remote!” and then he played with the video conferencing remote, and panned the camera across the rooms and the Cairns and TSV classes waved at each other. and that was it.
so, now I’m going into work, and then I’m going home to hang out with poor Tom for the afternoon, who is a pretty bored.
oh, and I’m taking bets on the sex of Ellen and Helge’s baby. post your picks here!
shoesy!
PS. have now been to work, where my entire office is obsessed with this logic puzzle (one of the ones where you have to ferry people across a river). Jim and I both solved it, and then promptly forgot how, so Tom and I just nutted it out step by step, and RECORDED the answer. so - turn down your speakers, those at work, this will easily waste an hour or so, and it’s noticably not work related.
