Larry and his little sister, Watti
There’s a couple of cyclones about at the moment. These have coincided with the failure of a hard drive at www.solutionsfirst.com.au. Needless to say, I haven’t been able to bring the usual high-rate coverage of the following dramatic events:
1. the closure of the JCU campus for one day;
2. the movement of Helge’s honey bee hives from their stands, down to the ground;
3. two palm fronds falling from trees on the strand; and
4. two rampaging coconuts wreaking havoc in the middle of Warburton St, North Ward.
You’ll be pleased to hear that we’re going to get together tonight in the true ‘Aussie’ digger-spirit and drink beers and play scrabble. I mean, I’ve got a broken leg, I can only do so much to help the people of Innisfail, right? right? *sigh*
More tomorrow

That’s nothing, we had real carnage. Numerous avocados fell from my tree, plus the ute got smashed by a few gum leaves which are still stuck to the windows! Powers finally back on in Cairns now. Thank god the uni’s molecular lab freezers run on generator power, or all my fish fillets and ice cream would have gone bad……………
