land of the long weekend
yep, we are smack-bang in the middle of long weekend land.. QLD likes to have too much of a good thing, so all the long weekends are bunched together over a couple of months, and then nothing for the rest of the year. I wonder if the politician responsible for that decision was retiring midyear, and wanted to sqeeze in some days off? anyway, I’m not really complaining..
went to a workmate’s (also = neighbours’ sister’s) (hey, small town) wedding yesterday, the lovely Karyn B married her sweetheart (literally Mr W/Right!) in a garden ceremony at her now-in-law’s property. it was um, somewhere - you go through Thuringowa, past the cowboys stadium and past the dump.. anyway, that was cute, I went with the ‘girls’ from the office - we took up a row of seats, and looked the part of bouquet-grabbing single belles, there to check out the cute cousins, which of course was not the case…
anyway, since all the cute cousins were spoken for, we headed to the new and trendy watermark bar on the strand, where EVERY PERSON IN TOWNSVILLE had also headed, it was so full, it didnt feel like being in Townsville at all, we were in our wedding attrire, and didnt look out of place, which is also pretty unusual.. our glorious leader shouted ‘the girls’ a bottle of wine, and we squeezed into a small corner (Damian and I actually sat underneith a bar - closer to random people’s knees than one normally wishes to get).
then tom picked me up to go to a dinner at Caroline’s (yum, thanks, C!), they have baby sunbirds, CUTE! tho now I began to look out of place in my wedding outfit..
oh, I started this post becouse Tom said his last one was boring but we had no news, and I was like, that’s not so… and I was going to just talk about the new neighbours playing their music loudly, but at least they have better music taste than the monkeys (the old neighbours, not the hey-hey brit-boy-band), and now i’ve gone on such a rant.. what was the orignial point?? oh, long weekend, work to do, new neighbours = news, but look, now I want some coffee (back on coffee so bad), so you people make some comments and then we’ll have something else to talk about……

He’s an accountant in autiting at PWC. Lauren is the brand manager for Paddle Pop - they have loads of ice cream in the freezer, dinners at their place are great.
