Onk
Mum has been visiting for the last week or so and we’ve been twitching like fiends. Both she and I have seen a variety of new birds on our travels between Townsville and Mission Beach (2hrs north).
A double-eyed fig parrot (race maclaeyana)
We had vaugely planned to go all the way to Julatten and hit-up Mt Lewis with Steve’s EarthWatch field trip. However, because I had a screw removed from my leg last Wednesday we decided that the muddy camping ground at Kingfisher Park probably wasn’t the best place for me to be–a Tibial nail infection would be seriously un-cool.
On our adventures we passed this cool store with almost everything a man could ever need.
Meanwhile, Rusty continues to Dominate (this time some Mayan Ruins):
And I’ve finished the Dominators Pacemaker (for now), including new wheels built from scratch and funded by YLM and YLD (THANKS!). It rides like a dream. (v. fast and scary!)

remember phill, all white with the red scarf and the closer you are to the bulls before you start running the bigger the hero you are… watch out for the pointy bits and the locals trying to shove you in the way of the big critters
