As the Tour enters it’s final stages, there is still no clear winner. The race of truth shall prevail once again…

“Gee, less than a day after I could hardly move a pedal on the bike I have turned into superbikeriderman and left everyone else (who were all travelling OK) wallowing around way way behind me.” Maybe he took some of Tom’s codrals. Maybe he had a couple of large pizzas. What other possible explanation could there be. Let me think, because it couldn’t possibly be drugs. All those people have been kicked out of Le Tour. They told us so. It reminded me of that fabulous horse called Rocket Racer that was owned by a crook called Laurie Connell. It was racing in Perth and had been backed in from long odds - it had no honest hope of winning - but it won by 9 lengths! couldn’t be pulled up, almost completed another lap of the racetrack and then dropped dead.
I’m with YLD, he must have had some supercharged blood cells injected the night before as he obviously couldn’t contain their output of heat energy, that’s why he effectively re-directed the flow of the Seine over his head for the entire length of the stage. He must have tipped 100-150 L of water over himself. The other odd thing was the bike change on the penultimate climb. I think that the first bike he was riding with was under the weight limit and he made a quick change to a regulation bike before the finish in case his bike was weighed-in after he crossed the line. Still, EPO and illegal bike considered, it was a definite display of domination. Bring on the TT.
In Paris? Who knows? Landis 1st, Evans 2nd, Sastre 3rd?
That’s the thing - no matter how wired you are, you still have to ride your bike up those 8-11% inclines. I don’t care what drugs you’re on, it’s a massive effort. Mind you, pales in comparison to Eddy.
I like this re Eddy:
“There’s a metro station named after him here in Brussels and one of the track bikes he raced (and won) on is in a glass case on the platform. I drool every time I get off the train there.
Just last week, I went into this really old bike shop in a rundown area of town and had a chat with the owner who’s been running it for decades. He used to sell bikes to Merckx back in the early days and even built some frames for him. He’s the first shop owner I’ve met here who knew about fixed gears. He mentioned fixed gear street races that used to take place in Brussels too. He was about to close for the holidays, I’ll have to check the place out more thoroughly in September, there’s a lot of history in there.”
what’s with the high search returns for flickr all of a sudden? there was nothing, and now it’s popping up all over google.. there’s some great stuff in there but also lots of crap, and you can’t buy/use/share images, like sxc which would be super helpful for those of us who need people shots on a regular basis..
sorry, I seemed to have drifted off topic somehow. I meant to say in my last comment
“tour, tour tour le tour tour le tour le tour tour. Le tour tour tour, tour tour tour le tour. Tour tour le tour tour tour tour le tour tour tour bicyle.”
Thank the lord I have a spine! I uncovered a very large earthworm today in Majors Creek whilst constructing the track for the single speed nationals today, was that you spineless?
Surprise surprise! Well I guess he can say that he didn’t take anything but I guess there was something in someone else’s blood that was pumping through him.

Unbelievable move by Floyd Landis last night. Truely epic.

It looked to me as though he must have had a complete blood change overnight!

They were joking that he ‘bonked’ in the Alps because his wife arrived in France the night before

Surprise surprise… Landis has tested positive (in the initial test) to elevated testosterone levels after stage 17, the scene of his epic comeback.
He now has to undergo further testing, or be banned…

I thought that I should confess my hidden talents as it looks as though I might be needed for the next Tour

And he cycled the whole way looking backwards. “John Rayner wins Le Tour after going the wrong way around France”.
