A jolly good whipping!
I got into the whole IMD2 thing in a big way, and totally whipped August! I started the month with three challenges:
1) to pass my driving test (achieved Wed 16/08)
2) to get state sponsorship for the SIR (provisional) residency (achieved twice! Thurs 17/08 from South Australia and Mon 28/08 from West Australia)
3) to get a job in conservation or natural resource management (achieved Mon 21/08 - offered a job as Regional NRM Facilitator for the Avon Valley in Northam, an hour’s drive from Perth in WA)
But that just wasn’t enough, so on Tues 22/08 I thought I’d help Tom add a few more birds to his list (and to mine), and then won the Tuesday Lotto (only $21… but still a little bit of icing on the cake)!

Snatching Tom’s Nikon digital SLR off him for a few shots of the golden bowerbird up at Paluma compelled me to celebrate my domination by buying a Canon digital SLR the following day (for considerably more than my $21 win!). It’s been an expensive month (car, licence, camping gear, camera, huge fee for applying for residency!) but a very successful one.
I might even have an idea for next year’s IMD… anyone fancy the Avon Descent white-water rafting race?!! Here’s to IMD3…!

Deb, this is a particularly impressive effort.
Love the crimson finch.
You shall have to do some posts from WA - let’s hope the birds are just as good there - though FNQ will take some beating.

It still blows me away how big August ‘06 has been. Word has spread in and out of cyber space. Milo’s MySpace page (yeah I know, I was thinking the same thing) has been getting random comments on IMD who have seen his occasional post on IMD and his link to Tom&Zoe.com.
Its good to see you posting a successful IMD campaign Deb. Every comment lurker should make a post over the next month or so, regardless of the post content.

Well, there’s a lot out there. There’s more than 100 visits from different IPs per day - I don’t have that many friends
