Nice work if you can get it
There’s not a great deal to report. It’s that time of year when people start to get very busy and rather ansty (luckily I’m very mild-mannered so I don’t suffer this fate). I’ve been busy writing my thesis during 14-odd hour days - ‘oh, the humanity!’.
I’ve also been scoping out the job market. At first I thought it was a case of slim-pickings, but there do seem to be quite a few opportunities around, each with it’s own set of pay/lifestyle/career/”success” payoffs. My main aim for the immediate future is to earn some money to ease the burden on poor-old Zoe, who’s working as hard as ever.
She’s off to Mission Beach tomorrow morning to meet up with Manda, who is almost our most reliable visitor (coming a close second to my parents - with notable absences from TallGuy and Zoe’s dad). Manda has been in Cairns for the last few days, diving etc… I think we might hit up Maggie on Saturday, just to soak up the last rays of winter - before the oppressive heat sets in.
