Dude, that was the most ‘lane’ post ever
so Im getting in quick to save us the embarrassment of having noone comment on the poor excuse for a post below (isnt that how 1st years write their essays? - all quotes and no substance - no offense to Rob, Rusty and Ecology Editor).
so, I had a great time at the AAS conference in Cairns, with all the anthropologists. there were some celebrity anthros in attendance and many jovial discussions. There was a bit of enviro anth content, and some dweebs from the coral “centre for xcellence” (hello!) came to tell us how they were, like, saving the corals with all the, like, uncivilised brown people and stuff. needless to say a few marine biologists got RHEAMED by some angsty middle aged anthros for their scale and measures of ‘modernity’.. or rather rheamed because they just couldn’t comprehend what they were being criticised on, and just stood there going “no. like, I know what I’m talking about. I’m like, a marine biologist! I save corals! it’s a Superior Science!!” ha ha ha!
anyway, at least we’ll all know who to turn to when General Mayhem occurs.
I will try and attach a pic from my trips - I’ve been testing out the new camera on Dunk Island with manda (Hi Manda - how was Fraser??) and some from Cairns.. we’ll see how we go.

I’ve been to Dunk Island. I was 6 months old. I wonder if Duncs has been there or does he just pay for the naming rights?

By the look of my bank account it would appear that they lost my details. Figuring I earn billions due to my really-really-rediculous-outrageously good looks, they probably just found some rich dude and forwarded my royalties.
Surely, with US$7.5 billion to his name, he could get some plugs!?
