Good Guys
Today I received a phone call informing me of the fact that the photo below has won me a $1000 “shopping-spree” at Troy Williams Good Guys in Townsville. The contest was run by City Life magazine, with the theme of “Life in NQ”.
Suggestions for what to buy are being taken…

That is fantastic.
The City Life mag seems to have lots of competitions, maybe you should enter some more.
Liz was once the queen of winning things in comps - she would probably have some really good tips - maybe she should do a post and share her expertise.
What to get? - I can think of lots of things that I would like.
The catalogue has some expensive goodies - sound systems, videos, washing machines!
Shame they don’t do bikes or kayaks or 2nd hand tinnies.
Guess you either get one thing or lots of bits, like a juicer, etc.
Or maybe just lots of Christmas pressies for your loved ones.

Yes it is Liz the EX competition queen. I never had the choice of prizes I just won what I won i.e. a beach chair with Streets all over it, a towel with Diodora all over it, a bathrobe with Radox all over it!!!!! Not complaining though because I did win a trip to NZ.
Great photo - yes I agree with YLM something nice for the loved ones that can chop a great salad to share with other loved ones at the Festive season.

As if Tomo is going to go to a shop that sells camera gear and buy a washing machine?!
I think a better idea is to wait outside the door and sell the $1000 gift voucher to someone who’s about to buy a fridge for, say, $950. Then at least you’ll have cash to go towards a Bigma.

Nice work, by the way.

Thanks mate. I ‘collected’ my prize this morning and had a chance to speak to their Operations Manager, who said, “We can basically get anything”.
I have arranged to email her with some details of items that I may like to purchase. This list will consist of one item, can anyone guess what it might B.?
Alternative is, of course, to go for a new pair of good binoculars, or a video camera, or a combo of a new tripod (they have a sweet one in stock for about $150) and a 30G video ipod, and a cheap wide angle lens.
Actually, who am I kidding, I’ll just get the washine machine. It’ll be great for penguin scrubbing.

That’s a cool photo. It looks like a tricky kind of angle… You didn’t fall after taking it, did you? (you have a bit of a reputation for falling)

I actually strapped my camera to a low-flying Shearwater (don’t worry it had fleshy feet).

It seems that the voting for more bicycles and Zoe posts is leading the charge. Perhaps we could get the best of both worlds and have more pictures of Zoe on bicycles
