Now is the time to backup bro! Quick, before the world ends with a blue screen of death and corrupted files…

    Well done though, Dr Dominator.

Karin, I just cut out a few chapters in the end - that helped a lot ;)

Lock, you’re absolutely right, I’m not going to say any more…

    Phildo, you’re on!

    Ves, sure does!

Kiki, make sure you send the Schokobons to:

    Dr Rayner

Otherwise, Roderigo will end up eating them all before I get a chance :)

Phew, I’m relieved and all I had to do was come up for a bit of RnR on Hinchinbrook Island to relieve the tension. When do we come up for a celebratory weekend of “the best rice on the mid north coast of Port Stephens” and frozen fish?

Well, we had a few drinks last night to celebrate - it was a good warm-up.

Max bought a case of Kaiserdom Pilsner (German readers may now nod their heads in silent approval) and I bought a bottle of cheap, but surprisingly tasty champagne, the cork of which I shot off the porch.

Needless to say, this morning was a little dusty, but I did manage to get in some birding before work - Red-necked Avocets, Eastern Curlews, a godwit, a Horsfield’s Bronze Cuckoo and a Black-shouldered Kite being the highlights.

My favourite moment was when, trying to sneak in closer through tall grass in thongs and shorts, I managed to put-up the whole flock of Avocets - one of my finer moments, I must say.

    Before:

    avocets down

    After:

    avocets up

    Congrats Tomo.

I know you are inclined to celebrate major life milestones in a humble and restrained manner, but don’t let this moment pass. Cut loose for once and give yourself a well deserved pat on the back.
