Part V - Time travel

Although I’ve finished my official write-up, recent discussions with Guy Marion have spurred me to pen part five in the series of effective thesis writing strategies.

Over the past week or so, George W. Bush - leader of the free world and all-round nice guy - has been dealing with the fallout from the Baker-Hamilton report on Iraq. In his first response to the report he said, “We’ll take all recomendations seriously… and respond in a timely fashion”.

Faced with the prospect of being asked, literally hundreds of times, when he was going to hand in his thesis, Guy and I decided that a similar response could work equally well for him (and other PhD students nearing the end of the candidature) - “I will take all hand-in dates seriously and submit my thesis in a timely fashion”.
