Early Bird
I finally got onto a Tawny Frogmouth, after a couple of years of not seeing them - a new tick, the first of the year.
Also in attendance was a juvenile Grey Butcherbird.
Here’s a shot of Max (on right) and Mark trying to burn down the house on the indoor BBQ. I’ve mentioned my uncertainty about the whole caper several times, but Max is adamant that the indoor BBQ is the way of the future: you can cook while it’s raining; it heats the house in winter; and it won’t get stolen, on account of the thief would need an alan key to get it through the door.
Of course, you have to disconnect the smoke alarm before you begin.

assuming, of course, that there was one in the first place

funny you should mention that - before xmas some drunk revellers thought it would be good to put our very important smoke alarm in the letterbox! and they put the door bell in my bed, ringing it repeatedly after I’d passed out!

That’s a cool frogmouth. I like the feather-do.
Zoe, i’m leaving you on the 27th of February, with or without a thesis. but hey, the Schlünses will still be around, so I’m leaving you in good hands.

That’s not a Tawny Frogmouth, Tom. That is a dead stick camouflaged to look like a Tawny Frogmouth
