Thresher
I’ve been back at work for a day now and, to be honest, it’s not really happening for me. This must, however, change in the near future as there’s heaps to do. Zoe, on the other hand, has been forced straight back into it - this morning she’s starting work at 6:30am. They’re running an event over on Maggie as part of the school holiday program (I think). While we were away, Port Stephens continued to produce unusual shark sightings. Following a series of Great White encounters, this Thresher Shark washed up on Fingal Spit. These guys are usually found in deep-water and appear to be a single global population.

Thats insane! It looks like it is still about to swim off. Is it naturally blue like that? Or is that due to being exposed on the beach?

It looks sad. Do you think that could be because he has such a little mouth compared to other sharks?

I think it’s cause he doesn’t have a sweet pink visor like the little girl!

that is the weirdest looking shark ever. I never knew they existed.

Hey I saw in one of the photo’s that you were at the museum did you guys go and see the BBC wildlife photographer of the year? The ten year olds were making me sick. How do you get that good before your even ten???
