There are odd occasions, well most days actually, when I have to restrain myself from pointing out, in mono-syllablic terms (and why are there so many syllables in "mono-syllablic?) so that they could understand it, that various people in authority at work are blithering idiots who couldn't organise a chook raffle on a Friday night, that their politics should be buried in antiquity, and that they have the social charm of a piranha. Instead of which I just roll my eyes and growl quietly to myself. And who is the second person in the photo? Ah, the compromises and politics of daily life.
