Strategies for effective thesis writing VI
Part VI - The Quiet Acheiver (a.k.a. the Action Montage)
The other day, Andy remarked casually, “Oh, yeah, I rode over the bridge [from Neutral Bay] to Centennial Park, did a few laps and rode home. No biggy”.
For a moment I thought, “Oh, yeah. No biggy”. Then I thought, “Wait a minute, that little bastard’s pulling a Quiet Achiever”.
Thing is, riding a bike through the Sydney CBD and out to Centennial Park - alone, sans help - is a rather nice accomplishment for anyone, let alone a young man who has always (lets face it) been on the rather lean side.
The Quiet Achiever is a powerful approach to life, requiring steely determination to overcome obstacles without complaining or gloating. It involves one of the simplest, most powerful techniques for impressive success. Hard work - behind the scenes - possibly in the form of a montage.
This post continues the SETW series.
