Young love III
I have some new friends, a pair of Swarovski EL 10×42 binoculars - the best money can buy. They bought me six new ticks* and, for the first time, a Striated Pardalote actually appears striated, rather than just an orange and black blob!
On the same day that this photo was taken, I managed to step on a rusty star-picket, which went through my boot and into my left foot. That evening, feeling horribly sick and pale, I was evacuated to Emergency at Dubbo Base Hospital for a round of x-rays and IV antibiotics (to prevent my tibial nail from getting infected - ewww!). This meant I missed a chopper ride over the Marshes.
*For those playing at home: Western gerygone, Striated pardalote (I know… embarrassing), Weebill, Brown treecreeper, Black-chinned honeyeater, Striped honeyeater

hard to know whether this or the armidale look is more attractive!
you’ll have to show me how to get the photo to change over like that - very clever.
