At night, on a bike, you can take back the city. You don’t even have to pay rego.
It’s become a bit of catch phrase recently, “Don’t even pay rego!”. Ben and I yell it when people beep at us. It doesn’t happen that often, but some drivers just don’t admire cyclists - we like it. TimTim frequently yells at drivers to ‘dry their fucking eyes’, which I think is great advice.
Yesterday I rolled out to La Perouse, having nearly killed myself doing a Tastes of the Bay ride - that takes in every major hill in Coogee valley.
I then headed over to the Nunnery Bike Workshop to help some friends fix up their mountain bikes. Pretty cool spot with literally hundreds of bikes (folders, roadies, mountain frames - you name it). Check it out on Monday nights if you get a chance.
