a very brief update

Duncs and I are recovering from our injuries at the Rayner Rehab Clinic (very plush).

today Rob and I have been on a yellow brick road magical medical tour of Sydney, with stops at Randwick (GP), Burwood (Orthopedic wizard), Bankstown (Hospital admissions and pre-op screening paperwork) and Auburn (shish plates, baklava, turkish delight and chocolates).

ok, maybe the last stop wasn’t medical ;)

official prognosis is that the knee looks swollen and inflamed, but ok, better give it a bit of time to settle down, but also lets get the surgery done before I do anything else (stupid) to it.. so the op is now just two weeks later than planned, all of which is pretty much the best news/outcome I could have hoped for.

yay! the wizard is going to give me a new knee!

no exciting photos… sorry! (ok ok, you’re so demanding! maybe one, it’s old and only tenuously related, like, just to that last word)

SORRY!.jpg

thanks for the awesome co-modeling, Dave! (OMG, Paris will now be so jealous of my rock star connections!)

Did I miss a Duncs injury? How come it wasn’t worthy of being reported? I await details.

oh, right! Duncan had some ‘lumps’ removed from his right hand earlier in the week, by aforementioned Orthopedic Wizard. both have been confirmed as benign, one ganglion and a some other thing, I forget the name.

he is bandaged, and has some pain, but they have given him good painkillers, and by our powers combined, we are 1.5 people (in limb terms at any rate). I can do the things that require 2 hands (buttering toast, cutting food, taping plastic bags onto hands for showers) and he can do the things that require 2 legs (walking and carrying things, getting up for the phone, bringing in the washing).

we have read magazines, watched several DVDs, some day time TV, and eaten an undisclosed quantity of chocolate. Lex has provided an undisclosed quantity of chocolate, and made pancakes and looked after duncs (between working and sleeping). YLD and YLM have provided significant accommodation and support. horray!

Yes but wait for when you guys have to repay the favour to YLD and YLM! They are keeping track of it all you know. You’ll be pushing their wheelchairs all over the country one day…….

    Nothing beats an Auburnon Kebab!
