can’t stop progress part II
the new knee is coming along nicely and has been a lot of fun, mainly on account of major efforts on my part to remain patient. I’ve found that once you want to walk now, you fall on the ground in a heap. or lose your charm, or something.
the last few days I’ve built the ability to hobble slowly, sans crutches (stainless steel crutch, rubber stopper on the end, several still purple wounds, healing nicely, 3 steri-strips keeping the big one in place) and I put a compression tube around the knee to give some stability.
earlier in the week I started massaging the wounds with body creme (NOT a circular wire brush on a drill) to soften the scar tissue. I was pleasantly surprised to find the markings ZMB 12 79, which means something to do with December 1979. This is a pretty good frame, after all.
next up is a front wheel and a paint job. um, maybe.

1979 eh, that’s the year with blonde highlights and erm, chrome dropouts right?
I’ve witnessed Zoe’s recovery first hand, and it’s been astonishing to say the least, no doubt helped along by lashings of care and attention by surly Tom + plenty of tea.

This reminds me of a previous post by Tom in which he was talking about your knee as if he was talking about bike parts.
And I have to add that the smiley platinum blond is a lot catchier than the photos of steel stuff… maybe you could post photos of bike parts + smiley blond to attract a larger audience

Pretty good frame, I agree! Thanks SO MUCH for awesom email, you’re cute! I’ve had no time for a decent reply due to being stupidly busy at work and having my mum stay for a wee while, BUT one is coming your way SOON!

OH RODDI!!! my bad! thanks for the ’smiley platinum blond’ comment, I too think there should be more platinum blonds accompanying the posts. we were just talking about you too, don’t worry we haven’t forgotten you and your birdy-nerdy teva-tanning ways. we are wondering when we get the $$ and time to come and visit you (we will have to see Ves&Dave, Phildo, Kiki, Fran and other european-dwellers too, but mostly we come for you, ok? don’t tell the others!). we miss you!! we love you!! you are not chopped liver..
