Frank Sartor wants to take decision making on big development out of the hands of your local area, and into his office (while he can accept party donations from big business.. umm, hello conflict of interest anyone?), private contractors (payed by developers) and with no chance of community say.

I know you may feel you don’t have huge confidence in your local council (elections coming up end of year, people!) but when you think about it, they have a much closer interest in the planning and development needs and sensitivities of your patch than the STATE department does. To the state, your street, block, park, nature reserve is just one of thousands upon thousands across the state, and if you object; tough cookies. THEY WILL NOT CARE.

But, you can ask your local MP to object to this legislation change. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to this website to find out more, and from there you can send a message to your MP telling them you DO. NOT. WANT. (there is a pre-written message and it looks up your MP by postcode - easy!).
