Dunc and the Dunc Gray Velodrome
There’s nothing like the right tool for the job. On a velodrome, the right tool is a track bike.
Now, track bikes come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from small shiny hipster machines…
To refined vintage steeds…
On Sunday, we let them loose on at Dunc Gray, the Sydney Olympic Velodrome. Only Dunc managed to tangle with the steep boards - leaving him with a nice weeping sore and splinters in his shoe.

We were doing passing moves, and I peeled off in a four man olympic persuit style, all the way up the bank then back down. I cam back down halfway round the bend, instead of merging nicely onto the striaght.
So I tried to turn back on line halfway round the bend, and slow down at the same time.
See above for the resutl. I was pulling splinters out of my thigh and knicks in the evening.
The Euro (and my colar bone) was ok though. Good times!

hmm, slowdown = loss of traction on the bend. Glad you got out of it so lightly.
